Money Bail System Treats Rich and Poor Differently

A guest column by Professor Emerita Pamela Oliver was published in the July 25 edition of the Wisconsin State Journal that describes how the money bail photo of Pamela Oliversystem unfairly affects decisions on guilt and punishment in our legal system.  She discusses two local cases in Madison that demonstrate this disparity. Oliver writes, “A legal system that treats wealthy people better than low income people is not a “justice” system, it is part of a system of oppression.”
