Erin Gaede received a 2025 Dissertation Grant from the National Institute of Social Sciences (NISS). This award recognizes and supports outstanding graduate students in the social sciences. She also won the RSS Rural Poverty RIG Graduate Student Paper Award for her research on rural housing insecurity.
Her research areas include poverty, racial inequality, housing, social movements, and public policy. Her recent study with Tessa Conroy and Steven Deller, “WINDICATOR: The Impact of Housing Financial Stress on Community Well-Being,” has been reported on by WPR and The Badger Herald.
