Mark your calendars: Day of the Badger is April 16-17 this year. Let’s party with a purpose!

Day of the Badger is a spirited day of giving that unites alumni, friends, and students to strengthen the university and ensure future generations enjoy the same level of educational excellence.

How to participate:

  1. ❤️ Wear red
  2. 📱 Post about your Badger pride on social media (be sure to use the hashtag #DayOfTheBadger and tag UW Soc!)
  3. 🎁 Give back so current & future students can continue to have excellent experiences at UW-Madison

We will focus on our Andrea Michelle Sperka Scholarship, which honors a former Sociology major who tragically lost her life in an automobile accident in Botswana after completing her studies abroad during her senior year. Throughout her undergraduate years, Andrea carried a demanding academic schedule while working to help meet her educational expenses. In addition, Andrea often served as a volunteer, including work with homeless children in Madison and in South Africa. It is in Andrea’s spirit of helping others that her parents, Carol and Michael Sperka, created this fitting tribute. The Andrea Michelle Sperka Scholarship is gifted each spring to a Sociology major who exemplifies some of Andrea’s outstanding qualities.
