Grad student Sadie Dempsey was awarded a $5,000 grant from the Institute for Humane Studies. This grant will support Sadie’s dissertation research on engaged citizenship in Wisconsin. Her three-year ethnographic study explores how and why young people participate in politics, how they experience the political process, and how democratic participation in youth shapes trajectories into early adulthood.
