Jenn Sims, PhD 2014, recently published her dissertation as a book titled, Mixed-Race in the US and UK: Comparing the Past, Present, and Future. Written with Chinelo Njaka, the book examines how mixed-race is constructed and experienced within these two nations. Sims was interviewed by The Washington Post for their national column About Us that explores issues of identity in the United States.
After completing her PhD from UW-Madison in 2014, Sims taught as an Adjunct Visiting Professor at UW-River Falls. She became an Assistant Professor of Sociology at University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2017.
