In it’s annual issue to feature “artists, innovators and thinkers” who died in the past year, The New York Times Magazine included a tribute to UW-Madison’s Department of Sociology alumnus, Devah Pager. The piece was written by Matthew Desmond, also an alumni of the department and who had previously been a colleague in the Department of Sociology at Harvard University.
